Window Regulator Replacement

Do you know what a window regulator is? Let’s start there…

What is a Window Regulator?

Windows Regulator

The power window motor is an electrical motor with gears that engage the window regulator. The motor takes the driver’s or passenger’s input via a switch and sends a power signal to the motor to move the window up or down.

Window regulators are what keep your windows rolled up and secure. When the regulator is broken, it exposes the interior of your vehicle to outside elements and leaves anything inside your car vulnerable to damage or theft.

Is Your Window Regulator Broken?

The Window Regulator is made up of two tracks, a thin metal cable, and a few plastic components that act as guides for the cable. These plastic components will break over time, which causes the metal cable to come loose and the window to fall inside the door. At this point, you will need your Window Regulator assembly to be replaced.

If you notice any of the following common symptoms happening with your window, it may be time to get your window regulators replaced:

Does not go up or down.

Fell into door.

Operation is noisy.

Don’t use a high-pressure car wash for at least 48 hours.

Window moves up or down at an angle.
